Default Please help, I'm stupid

Ok you know how every one says any build can beat NM pve? Well I'm proof that is false. My GF and i always run together (both Ele) and her son (sin) so we bring in an Olias (MM bomber), M. O. X. (Avatar of Balthazar), Ogden (healer's boon) , Gwen (boss or healer shutdown) and Olias (SS Curses and Fire). We keep dieing easily (we are in factions right now btw just ascended) and it seems pvxwiki is hard to find good builds. Can anyone give any advice to help our team set up?

This is a build i put together, I will post it to show you how my mind works and if im on the right path or really need help. Olias Fire and curses (hope this gwBBcode works, I'm a noob) [pre][build=OAZDY5pqOIj8gQ7MoLKGNtqK][/pre]

You should have two monks in your team in a 8 person team, so if it was me I would take out take out olias for another healer or protector. I also perfer WoH for hero monks.

drop M.O.X., or at least his avvy and give him an elite scythe attack, or eda and volley.

At least 25% healers is the rule in PvE, I'd say, and Monk heros are pretty crap at e-management.

Run two N/Rts if you can, or one N/Rt and one Mo/X.

yes follow the 25% healers rule, N/Rt's are the best for this. also it helps to have a little support on your other party members e.g. Aegis and Prot spirit on the MM, or a Draw conditions AoM dervish, or Wards on an ele.
Basicly in 8 man areas you want something like this: 1-2 Melee, 2 healers, 0-1 monk/boss shutdown, 1 anti melee (blinder, SS etc), 2 Fire eles/other source of big damage. And if you have a spare spot, take whatever else you feel like.
If you want a realy great build, find the Triple Necro Vanquish build on pvx.

^^those are all good staple builds and heroes generally use them well, as stated above 25%monks is good. i like a WoH and an HB, or a WoH and some sort of prot monk.

so 2 eles 1 sin (you guys), WoH, HB or Prot(your choice really), MM, D-slash War, Mes monk/boss shutdown....looks good

This build is worth it. However, I wouldn't bother with the other two.

My reasons are that without heavy micromanagement, Monk heroes are weak. They don't pre-prot effectively, they can only heal effectively. Not to mention heroes are out of energy fast (without micromanagement) without stupid energy management. A Necromancer would be more worth it by far.

Warrior heroes generally have bad aggro management, which could cause problems.

N/Rit Healer and a minion bomber to provide more frontline / keep the healers energy flowing is all you should need in pve.

Just have your sin run Death blossom / Moebius and that shoudl be enough damage alone and spam splinter wep on them if you feel it's needed

Discord is fail-proof, too. Heck, the beauty of Discordway is that you can just C-Space and do f*** all with efficiency.

IMO discord > sabway-just have 1 ele go Unsteady Ground and the other go AP-then the sin go moebius/death's,should blaze through pve.

IMO never use hero monks - they have little advantage over hench monks.

BTW, I have tried both Discordway and Sabway in HM. I know everybody loves Discordway over Sabway but somehow for me Sabway works so much better... I play a Monk (WoH) with Pain Inverter, Technobabble and Ruby Djinn as offensive support. As henches I add a prot monk, an ele, an interrupt and a warrior.

OK lets see if i get this right.

1. Sabway. the 3 necro vanq build from pvx and a prot monk then the last one change for each mission or zone

2. Discordway. 5 necros all with discord. (1 M Bomber, 1 Healer necro, 1 Curses, 1 Restor N/RT last my choice) GF as earth ele with unstedy ground and Sin with moebius/death and me changing for what is needed (like burning or AP or water ect)

3. Normalway. Fire (or air when need be) ele, earth ele, 1 sin, WoH, HB or prot (change as need be?), MM, D-slash War, Mes monk/boss shutdown

I found that a hero can run the WoH hybrid build you posted just fine. I added Glyph of Lesser Energy for a bit better energy management though (heroes use it well).
